What do you think about this build? Effective in PvE, e.x. HM missions, vanqushing?
I'll use Lyssa's Assault instead of Zealous Sweep becouse I haven't got GWEN.

It's a good build, but it's not the most optimal. Escape Scythe is better simply because you're mitigating damage. The high expertise level's enough to get through the e-management, so there's no need for the elite signet on the build you posted. I'd go with the escape scythe build imho..

For HM, I'd much rather go [broad head arrow] + [epidemic].
This build does good damage though. The only problem with it is the elite - it's really unnecessary to have an energy management elite when you have 16 expertise.

² that
and yea the expertise isn't rly how it should be, use escape maybe works better or even an elite derv scythe attack

Yes. BHA + Epidemic is indeed FTW. I also use Blind + Epidemic a lot.

It's not because of the 4.5 to 5.0 rating, but rather the overall big picture as well as effectiveness of the build. Compare your build and mine and boil it down to it's bare elements. You'll find that one's more e-management and the other's blocking/damage-mitigation.. Which are you more concerned with and favor? Having more than enough energy while straining your monks into healing you and squandering their energy? Or blocking/mitigating damage while having enough energy to spam attacks regardless of the elite signet while giving your monk backline a break?
..The choice is yours, ultimately.

OK, I'll try escape build. I'm wondering what should I take instead of rending touch, becouse I suppose that I won't use it xD

Yea Escape Scythe is the way to go if you want to use a scythe Ranger. Don't mess with the formula to much. In PvE it'd serve a number of roles:
1.) You'd soak up quite a bit more damage than a warrior or a paragon. Baddies have the tendency to go after the lowest armored target, so they'll stick to a Ranger sooner than they'd stick to a warrior. Escape means that you can more than make up for the armor difference. This'd be especially helpful in melee heavy areas.
2.) Deep Wound.
3.) You've actually got a pretty nasty spike with Pious -> Chilling -> Ermites. A spike is useful when you have a high priority target (a monk with 1/2 cast speeds?).
4.) You don't necessarily need rending touch in PvE, so your free to bring two slots worth of utility. Throw dirt and Crippling Victory are both good choices in HM. Snares are useful for the increased movement speed of monsters, and Throw Dirt will further help mitigate damage.
It's actually not a bad little build in PvE. It's certainly not the most effective (read unbalanced) way to go, but it's far from the worst.

When running HM, its probably better to just run BHA+Epidemic+Volley

There you have it from the min maxxers. The R/D scythe ranger can't be fun since there are more effective ranger builds. Obviously if one r/mes with BHA and epidemic is good, two must be far superior than one BHA ranger and a scythe ranger...
I like playing scythe ranger sometimes too, it's actually the only way I ever get to use all those shiny scythes I find since I never got into dervs that much and turned the pve derv into a mule character. Anyways I also have a lot of fun with dwarven stability and Lightning reflexes with Onslought, but usually that's on a bow ranger.

How did you get the blind in the first place? Most ranger skills that inflict blind do it widespread like [skill]dust trap[/skill] and [skill]throw dirt[/skill].
The only other way I can think of is [skill]Ebon dust aura[/skill] and an Ebon bowstring but that requires R/D - no Mes.
So I would really like to know how you get this blind+epidemic beause it would be great for vanquishing in Cantha.
Thanks~

I've come to the conclusion that a Blindbot is a wasted slot compared to a Curses Nec. If you're after Blind and using Sabway, try this modified N/Rt healer...
[build name="Communing Restorer" prof=Necromancer/Ritualist Communing=11 Restoration=10 Soulreaping=10+1+1][Weapon of Quickening][Mend Body and Soul][Spirit Light][Protective Was Kaolai][Shadowsong][Life][Signet of Lost Souls][Death Pact Signet][/build]

I'd drop Zealous Sweep for Chilling Victory, much better.
I don't see why you really need the two skills for e-management on top of your already high expertise (I'd swap to a major instead of a sup though.)
12 Scythe Mastery imo.

You sure about this one?
I mean, Shadowsong only has 100 health at that level of Communing, and only hits 5 seconds of Blind.
Although I agree Blindbots are a waste if you're using Sabway. Or any Weakness application in general.

Ah right, thanks Antithesis.
Hmm... that N/Rt looks interesting... I will try it out thats for sure, but I still feel that [skill]life[/skill] or [skill]union[/skill] would be a better option. Weapon of Quickening? Wouldn't [skill]weapon of remedy[/skill] still be a better option?
